ManyChat on Instagram vs LinkedIn: Why the Same Play Needs a Different Tool

The comment-to-DM mechanic transfers between the two channels. The product does not, and neither does the tone. What changes, and the one technical difference that breaks a straight port.

Can you use ManyChat on LinkedIn?

No. ManyChat supports Instagram, Facebook Messenger, WhatsApp, TikTok, Telegram, SMS and email. LinkedIn is not among them and has never been announced for the roadmap.

If you already run ManyChat on Instagram and assumed LinkedIn was a settings screen away, that is the whole answer(opens in a new tab). The mechanic moves across. The product does not.

What is the difference between the two audiences?

Volume on one side, value on the other, and it changes everything downstream. An Instagram comment-to-DM post can pull thousands of comments for a $20 or $50 consumer offer. A LinkedIn post pulling 80 comments can be a much better day, because those 80 are named professionals with job titles and companies attached, and a single one of them closing at $2,497 a month outweighs the volume.

Instagram gives you a handle. LinkedIn gives you a person, their role, their employer and their network.

Does the same post format work on both?

The structure does. Offer something specific, ask for a comment, deliver in the DM. What changes is the register.

LinkedIn connection accept rates run 20 to 30% and replies after connecting run 12 to 18%, which is a different scale of engagement from a consumer feed. Instagram tolerates hype, emoji and urgency. On LinkedIn the same energy reads as a pitch and gets ignored, because the audience is at work and judging you professionally. The offer has to be useful for a job rather than exciting for an evening.

Why is delivery harder on LinkedIn?

Because you cannot always DM a commenter. On Instagram, if someone comments, you can message them. On LinkedIn, messaging depends on connection degree, so a large share of your commenters are unreachable by default.

That single difference is why a LinkedIn tool needs a connection gate, an invite-accept step, and a fallback path for people it cannot reach. A straight port of the Instagram flow silently drops half the responses.

What does a LinkedIn tool need that ManyChat does not?

Four things, all consequences of the point above:

+A check for whether a DM is even possible before it promises one.
+Invite acceptance, since accepting a pending request often unlocks the DM.
+A connect-first fallback that keeps unreachable people in the flow instead of discarding them.
+Varied public replies, because LinkedIn comment sections are professional context under your real name.

Are the conversion rates different?

Wildly, and comparing them directly is a mistake. Instagram runs on volume with low friction and low intent. LinkedIn runs on lower volume with much higher intent, because commenting on a post is visible to your colleagues and your boss.

That visibility is a filter. Someone who publicly comments on a B2B post about outbound is telling their whole network they care about outbound, which is a stronger signal than a tap in a private feed.

Should you run both?

If your buyers exist on both, yes, and run them as separate programmes rather than one campaign in two places. Same mechanic, different offers, different tone, different tools, because no single product covers both channels well.

What does not work is writing once and posting twice, because a LinkedIn comment post(opens in a new tab) is a different piece of writing. The Instagram version underperforms on LinkedIn and the LinkedIn version reads as dry on Instagram.

What if you only sell B2B?

Then LinkedIn is the channel and ManyChat is not the tool, which is a shorter decision than most people make it. Use a LinkedIn-native tool, keep the mechanic, and drop the assumption that what worked on Instagram will transfer sentence for sentence.
